Description

Sapele is a good all-purpose timber grown in West and Central Africa with a medium to dark-reddish brown colour. It is characterised by a well-defined ribbon striped figure on quartered surfaces with an interlocked and wavy grain. The texture is fairly fine and virtually knot free, long lasting and takes to paint well. Sapele works well with hand and machine tools, nails, screws and glues well.
